Playwright's Comments

      We Never Danced is a tale of a young woman's journey that begins in her 16th year and spans many years and many miles, from her small South American country to halfway around the world. We have a glimpse of her youth with her colorful family, and her first encounter with tragedy and loss.

      Now a grown woman, she unexpectedly reconnects with a dear friend who holds many keys to that pivotal 16th year. With her discoveries comes a renewed longing to understand aspects of her life that have remained unexplored. We join her in seeking, and sometimes finding, surprising answers to some of life's great questions.

      We are always searching for love and peace. It's comforting to know that there's another place where we can find refuge and rest from the cares of the world.

      "We never danced" is a reflection of our own lives, filled with laugher, tears, frustration, despair, anger, confusion, and all the emotions that make us human.
