IF I WERE GOING TO MAKE A MOVIE… at The DiFiore Center for Arts and Education

On February 24th, we plan to show three short films and have a Q and A session between the Director; writer, actors and the audience. The intention is the development of a two way exchange to stimulate ideas and begin to motivate more people to become involved in film making in every aspect.

We will be showing:
“Stan the Man” with Dan Fowlks
“Four Way Stop” with Jennifer Kohler
“The Wild Misadventures of Jesse James and Billy the Kid” with Shaun Labrecque, Sheldon Demke, and Adam Mast.
After the showing and discussion there will be light snacks and a chance for the film makers and the audience to get together and ferment ideas.  Of the films being shown “Stan the Man: and “Four Way Stop” are both TSBTC scriptwriting winners and went on to festival successes. Come join us and experience the talent and storytelling that come from our community. Be a part of the discussion, and learn about the process of other artists while becoming mused, yourself.

Tickets:
Tickets will be sold at the door, and will be $3.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
Do you have a story that would make a great film? Do you want to know how to turn it into a screenplay? Maybe you you’ve written a screenplay before and want to make it better somehow. Perhaps you’re having a problem writing dialogue, or can’t seem to focus your ideas into visual narratives. No matter where you are in the screenwriting process, or how much experience you have, this workshop can help you. We will cover how to tell your story cinematically, writing more dynamic characters, industry-standard formatting, writing dialogue that helps connect audience and character, and so much more. Led by Jennifer Kohler, this workshop will help you tell the stories that you think are important and NEED to be told... Cinematically.

ABOUT JENNIFER KOHLER
Graduated with a Masters of Fine Art in Screenwriting at University of Nevada Las Vegas, where she produced several screenplays, including the feature length “Stalking Ted”, about a young woman’s infatuation with and stalking of a young law student named Ted Bundy, as well as, “Five Crowns”, a multi-episode series based on the life and machinations of the Duchess of Sagan, set in Europe during the Congress of Vienna, 1814-15.
